After several months of discussions and plans, new Badin residents Andy and Martha Kinnecom teamed up with local Bridget Huckabee to form Visit Badin. The new company is the publisher of The Badin Villager, a complimentary monthly newsletter highlighting village news, events and history.

“We formed Visit Badin to help establish sustainable tourism and economic development in the town and Uhwharrie region,” Kinnecom says. “Our business plan is to create and distribute several tourism and local interest publications and market the area.”

Bridget Huckabee serves as executive director of the company and the editor of The Badin Villager. The Kinnecom’s, who purchased the Badin Inn Golf Resort and Club in 2005, are assisting with the administrative end of the business.

“Exciting things are happening in Badin,” says Huckabee. “The Small Town Area Revitalization project, the musems, and the Alcoa land announcements. Badin is on the move.”

The company will be accepting corporate sponsors, business memberships and providing advertising opportunities for local merchants. A tourist guide and a brochure are in the planning stages.
